I wanted to love this, I really did. I have had a migraine since about two minutes after spraying it and can’t wash it off - even after a shower, it lingers. In terms of smell, the blood Orange wasn’t perceptible at all to me - patchouli completely took over and not in a good way. Smelled vaguely like licorice after drying down. Not a fan, had to return.

I had been seeing reviews that Excess was not the same and finally it happened, my last purchase was very disappointing. My daughter and I both have worn Excess for years, but the last bottles we purchased smell cheap and chemically and have no staying power. I would have countless people comment on the scent, even stop me to ask what I was wearing. I didn't wear it for compliments I wore it because I loved it. It was earthy and rich without being cloyingly sweet and strong. So what have you done to it and why won't you go back to the original formula? Speak up Margot Elena, answer me and all of these people that once loved this perfume. Why did you screw up a good thing? Did the cost increase on the ingredients so you are trying to slide one by and make it with inferior ingredients? Well NEWS FLASH, it stinks, literally, like it smells bad, like a cheap drug store imposter. You took a lovely thing and turned it into an inferior product. I would pay more to have the original Excess formula back. Please explain here on this review site what you have done and is there ever any hope that the original scent will return and that the quality will be consistent? Inquiring minds want to know! Sadly, my loyalty is fading as fast as this substandard scent : (
